Understanding there was something else happening at the time, here’s @spencito.bsky.social and I’s episode of Courtside with #Cavs from last night recapping the preseason opener vs. the Celtics.

Last night was our first glimpse of the somewhat new-look #Cavs. Wrote about Peyton Watson, a subtle potential lineup shift and, of course, the rebounding.

Celtics win 124-113 over the #Cavs in the preseason opener.

Celtics up 99-96 on #Cavs after three. Big takeaway is CPJ making his mark with both the regulars and the two-ways. Meleek Thomas playing hard. Rashaun Agee has five points in four minutes.

Craig Porter Jr. is ballin' out on both ends of the floor. Only thing left for him right now is to get on the glass a little more and hit the scoreboard, but WINNING impact in this one. #Cavs

#Cavs two-way contract trio of Tristan Enaruna, Riley Minix, and rookie Ernest Udeh Jr. are all on the floor now. Playing with Meleek Thomas and Tyrese Proctor.

This group is on a big run out of the gate. Tied it at 74 in 95 seconds. Meleek Thomas is competing. CPJ is picking up where he left off. Nice three ball from Mario over the top as well. #Cavs

#Cavs opening the second half with Craig Porter Jr., Meleek Thomas, Tyrese Proctor, Mario Hezonja, and Thomas Bryant.

Offense looked pretty fluid out there. 18 assists on 24 shots. Defense, whether a preseason thing or not, wasn’t up to par. #Cavs got beat to their spot way too much. Celtics had 19 free-throw attempts and 12 offensive boards.

#Cavs team defense has been less than stellar in the first half.

Fourth-year CPJ looking like a seasoned pro in his first minute on the floor. Solid D, keeping his eyes open and finding teammates. #Cavs

Mass sub for that last #Cavs group.

Craig Porter Jr.-Tyrese Proctor-Jaylon Tyson-Peyton Watson-Evan Mobley is the fresh five.

Celtics up 32-29 on the #Cavs after one. Good showing from the Peyton Watson-Jaylon Tyson duo. Clean first 12 minutes so far, surprising for preseason. Boston has the only turnover. C's do have 10 offensive boards and are outcrashing the glass 19-10.
