Back into the archives for this one. These guys were selling a type of candy only the royal family used to eat. More deets in the alt text. #Seoul #SouthKorea #UrbanGaze #HumansOfBlueSky #CandyMakers #ClassicMono #Travel #ECK #KeepGoing

At a tiny shop in the maze that is Seoul’s, South Korea, two guys were selling a type of candy that only used to be for the royal family. The guy on the right demonstrates making it with a ball of cold honey - cold enough to be firm, but pliable, and not sticky when dipped in rice flour over and over again. He was able to stretch it and pull it until it was a bundle of very thin threads. My Korean friends wouldn’t let me buy it, and I felt kind of guilty not buying it when I had taken the picture. He was quite the showman, but his friend just looked at me.
