Originally known as Cooper’s Ferry in 1688, Camden, NJ was renamed in 1773 to honor Charles Pratt, the Earl of Camden, a British nobleman who championed American rights! It later became an industrial giant & home to Walt Whitman. #CamdenNJ #NJHistory #NewJersey #CamdenCounty #AmericanHistory
