I suppose a lot of people will be happy to not inherit a massive physical library they don't care for and find difficult to sell; but I still keep wishing ebooks were something you could resell, gift, and pass to your children. (Maybe I'll just attach a copy of #Calibre to my will.)

Calibre 9.16 adds Kokoro voices to Read Aloud.

Its creators say they sound more natural than the existing Piper options, particularly for English text.

I have now reached the point in my #nook #cloud implementation where I _need_ to integrate with the #Calibre backend sqlite database and files.

Use it from your editor. There are free plugins for:
• Sigil
• calibre's Edit Book
• calibre's library, which checks every EPUB you own in one go

The library plugin is now in calibre's official plugin index, so you can install it straight from calibre.
