A cabbage white butterfly is clasping the edge of a cluster of pink flowers. The dappled sunlight makes the wings appear transluscent. The delicate dark patches, on the topside of the wings, can be seen through the underside, as the wings are almost closed. The white wings are a distinct contrast to the dark background.

Does nothing eat these lads? They are awfully confident out there in the open. I grow the nasturtiums to assuage my guilt for how I treat their brethren on my brassicas...

A couple of shots of a sweet #CabbageWhite in the community garden across the street. The pollinators were in full swing this last week, though I only spotted a couple of larger butterfly species.

A small white butterfly is clinging to a tiny blue flower. Its wings are folded up, and a single black dot is visible on the underside. There is a hint of dark shapes showing through from the other side of the wings.A small white butterfly is clinging to a tiny blue flower.
