![A screen grab of a Werner Herzog interview where the filmmaker replies : "Oh, but I don’t know anything about aesthetics! And I do not want to give any aesthetics to my films. It comes on its own. It imposes itself. And it’s the same thing, you see, when I look at your handwriting… [Points at my notebook.] You never think about the aesthetics of your handwriting, right? Still, it has a certain aesthetic. There’s no doubt. But if you started to think about aesthetics, you would not write beautifully anymore."](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_fullsize/plain/did:plc:a4kqmb55qrgglauz6htdkk75/bafkreibybm5buxmlabfkv2ul2e5omnm4h2jjjglyn43jj4th7cc6k6baza@jpeg)

@realspacecortez.bsky.socialThe only #film at #TIFF that I didn't like all that much was #BuckingFastard a new narrative story from #WernerHerzog dedicated to #DavidLynch On paper I should dig this film, but unfortunately it was a bit of a misfire. #FilmSky
@reel360news.bsky.socialFrom Werner Herzog’s “Bucking Fastard” to a new Medellín office, The Roots founder Ariel León Isacovitch is doubling down on creative partnership, borderless production and going deep for the story. #TheRoots #ArielLeonIsacovitch #WernerHerzog #BuckingFastard #Production #FilmProduction #Colombia

@loudandclearrvs.bsky.socialAt the Venice Film Festival, we spoke with Kate & Rooney Mara, Domhnall Gleeson, Orlando Bloom and Werner Herzog about BUCKING FASTARD! 😍
Read what they told Hayley about synchronized line deliveries, a movie that's about love, working together and more! 🔥👀

@theshahshahid.bsky.social#TIFF26 Movie No. 7:
I’m gonna have to sit with #BuckingFastard for a few days. ‘Cuz that was something, boy!
What I can say is that it’s gorgeously shot w great performances by both Mara sisters. But never have I been THIS engaged in a story that went nowhere.

@benmkwrites.bsky.socialA fever dream as only Werner Herzog can conjure up, #BuckingFastard is an idiosyncratic tale of the absurdities that can ensue when two act as one. Kate and Rooney Mara delight with their duality, but if you’re expecting a traditional narrative, you’d best look elsewhere. #TIFF26

@thefilmstage.comThe wide-eyed romanticism that permeates Werner Herzog's #BuckingFastard, starring Rooney and Kate Mara, feels genuine, heartfelt, and occasionally infectious.
