In the #BattleOfCableStreet, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1936, about 200,000 #antifascists, #anarchists, #socialists, and #Jewish & #Irish workers in London's #EastEnd faced off against #OswaldMosley's #BritishUnionOfFascists and the #police, routing both & chasing off the #fascists.

The #BattleOfStockton on #ThisDayInHistory in 1933 was a fight between 100 members of #OswaldMosley's #BritishUnionOfFascists and 2,000 #antifascists armed with pick-axe handles, stones, bricks, and potatoes fitted with razor blades. Self-defence against #fascists is necessary.
