“It was so bad that you have to tell me via voice?” Chaos asked as soon as we were connected. I rolled my shoulders and set my elbows on the desk.
“No, there’s just more that needs to be said, and something I’m going to leave out,” I prefaced, not wanting to go over the embarrassing bits.
“That’s not fair,” Chaos interjected, and I heaved a sigh. It really wasn’t fair to leave anything out, since she’d told me everything about her soulmate over voice one night while her crew were asleep. Except for the sensitive, personal details, like genitalia size, duration of sexcapades, and anything she learned about his past. Plus, what was said to Chaos stayed with Chaos. It was another reason we were friends. I didn’t have to worry about anything I said getting back to my family, but was she alone?
“Are you comfy? Have a beverage and snack?” I asked. Her power shifted, and the leather of her favorite chair creaked as she wiggled into it. “Anyone around who can hear me?”
