The trellis and walls are overgrown with greenery-ivy and small sumac trees • Ames Family Estate: Built in 1910 for shovel magnate heir Oakes Ames and his artist/suffragist wife Blanche Ames Ames, the property served as their secluded country retreat. • Film Backdrop: The striking stone mansion and surrounding grounds have starred in major feature films including Shutter Island, Knives Out, and Ghostbusters (2015). Borderland State Park is an American history and nature preserve with public recreational features located in the towns of Easton and Sharon, Massachusetts. The state park encompasses 1,843 acres surrounding the Ames Mansion, which was built in 1910. The area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Borderland Historic District in 1997.
