Dealbreaker Ch. 12: Your Choice
A beating heart is a silly, uncontrollable thing. While he dresses himself to meet Willow, Astarion's vascular system is more active than it has ever been — spare maybe the night they separated.
His heart poundsas the feeling of nervousness bubbles up inside of him, making him wonder if there's any good in this particular part of living. It only seems to make him lightheaded.

Willow plans on telling Astarion that he doesn’t have to show her anything. She intends to tell him that he doesn’t have to stay with her tonight, and if he does, he doesn’t have to make her come. She plans on offering him an out, just in case he’s doing any of this out of obligation.

Willow doesn’t get to speak any of that aloud, however, before Astarion’s thumb is inside her mouth.

“And what if I want to?” He asks. He presses the pad of his thumb down onto her tongue, allowing her to taste the salt of him. “Pleasure my beautiful lover before her birthday is over?”

Dealbreaker Ch. 11: Flowers!
"And, I'm sorry—" Shadowheart says, narrowing her eyes,
"why on Toril have you been thinking about this?"
Shadowheart leans forward in her chair, nearly pushing over her goblet as she clasps her hands between the two of them on the table. "You are insane, Willow, if you're considering this.
He— do you remember how you cried? The way he belittled you? I certainly remember, considering how loud all of it was."
"I do," Willow whispers, suddenly staring down into the woodgrain of the table, rather than Shadowheart's piercing green eyes. All of the embarrassed redness disappears from her face, suddenly replaced with a heavy dread, deep in the pit of her stomach. "But I don't want anyone else, Shadowheart, and if he would give me that, then..." Willow shakes her head as tears begin to build up behind her eyes. "I know it's stupid.
I'm so fucking stupid. But I love him, and he sent me flowers."
