"those eyes" painting 🌸 #art #blackart #blackwoman

Someone referenced Shonda & something she's done that these #streaming platforms are NOT doing is she took source material like #Bridgerton & her production company has diversified an all-white #romance series every season (altho the lack a #Blackwoman lead with a Bridgerton bro is 💩💩💩). #booksky

Colored-pencil drawing of a prehistoric huntress lying prone in some savanna grass while stalking off-page prey. Poses like this are always a challenge for me to get right. #prehistoric #african #warriorwoman #huntergatherer #blackwoman #art

Wanted this character to look rather ruthless. I gotta say applying some gamsol did wonders for the colored pencil work. #fantasy #african #blackwoman #warriorwoman #art

A valorous warrioress braces herself behind the protection of her elephant-hide buckler. Done in colored pencil during lunch break (I work at home). #fantasy #african #warriorwoman #blackwoman #art

A Yoruba adventuress from ancient Nigeria in West Africa. #yoruba #nigerian #african #blackwoman #fantasy #art

Sketchbook doodle of a Nigerian Yoruba lady wearing a type of headwrap called a gele. Unfortunately the protective fixative I sprayed onto the drawing ended up darkening parts of her face. #yoruba #nigerian #westafrican #african #blackwoman #art

A fantasy swordswoman inspired by Congolese cultures of Central Africa. #congo #african #blackwoman #warriorwoman #fantasy #art

The muse behind this early morning work was the Instagram influencer Nayae Noor. #african #blackwoman #womanofcolor #art

And here's the same (or similar) character in good ol' graphite! #zulu #southafrican #african #blackwoman #womanofcolor #drawing #art

Marker doodle of a warrioress inspired by Kenya's Maasai culture. #kenyan #eastafrican #african #fantasy #blackwoman #warriorwoman #art
