Shifting sands soothed the soles
Of a solitary soul
In search of solitude
Away from those marooned
On their inland #island
Fishing from a summit
Wasn’t my brightest idea
But, I do feel my #lure
Should work better here
The #purity of a moment alone
Locked behind an open car door
Moderately shared with the rev
Of engines headed somewhere
Far from my focus
I #reckon I
Should reckon with “I”
“I” can definitely be wrong
And though “I” may long
To hold importance
What “I” may want
Holds no accordance
With the impersonality
Of truth
I fear I may die without a muse…
Wilt into a crumbled leaf
To be crunched beneath
The weight of my own aimless steps…
I fear I may die without #passion’s
Breath…to whisk me to skies free
Of shallow depths found
On the grounds of mere survival…
