A Common Loon, aka Great Northern Diver, is stretching is wings as it bares its breast. Taken in April, this bird is in the final stages of molting into breeding plumage and will soon depart for northern lakes.

Breast down in the water, a Red-breasted Merganser raises her bill, opens her wings slightly, spays her tail, and makes splashes. On quick glance, its difficult to figure out how all the parts connect.
