Good to see the lesser yellowlegs at Kilnsea today also brief view of a buff-breasted sandpiper, adding 2 more British lifers to the bird list. Other birds include a knot, a GW egret, ringed plovers & ruff. @yorkswildlife.bsky.social @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social #BirdSeenIn2026 @birdguides.bsky.social

Rufous-backed Dwarf Kingfisher

One of my girls said it reminded her of a ripe red mango. If only they were as static as a piece of fruit. Instead these beauties zoom past, Technicolor darts through the forest.

On #MyWalk from Gazeley to Moulton end August, besides fine Common Buzzard eating, I think, a young Brown Rat, we came across this magnificent #bracketfungus. Could it be Giant Elm Bracket (Rigidoporus ulmarius) @norwichbirder.bsky.social ? #fungi #mushroom #MushroomMonday #birdseenin2026 #suffolk
