A square artistic photographic editorial cartoon meme "Russia Plague" © 2026 by Bill Bramhall depicting the following:

On a gray on top / white on bottom background there is one huge figure front and center wearing a yellow bio-suit with gray gloves and boots and complete breathing apparatus on his face with big red tank on his back. The figure is labeled "RUSSIA" on his chest.

On the ground next to the figure is a broken lab test glass cylinder labeled "PLAGUE" with green cloud coming out of it topped with a green skull's head with black holes for eyes and mouth.

The "completely protected by his suit" yellow figure is holding a large very leafy notebook in his right gloved hand that is labeled "CHERNOBYL COVER-UP" and he is speaking into a white voice bubble:

"RELAX - WE HAVE PROCEDURES IN PLACE"

Russia’s emergency procedures are apparently well established: when disaster strikes, contain the truth before containing the threat. The Chernobyl playbook still makes for handy reading.

☣️📖🤐 Помни! Remember!

#BillBramhall #PoliticalCartoon

Bill Bramhall editorial cartoon depicting Russia as a figure in a bulky yellow hazmat suit, grey gloves and boots, a full-face respirator, and a red breathing apparatus strapped to its back. “RUSSIA” is printed across the suit’s chest. The figure calmly reads an open manual titled “CHERNOBYL COVER-UP” while standing beside a broken laboratory vial labelled “PLAGUE.” A sickly green vapour curls upward from the vial, forming a sinister skull. A speech bubble above the figure declares, “RELAX– WE HAVE PROCEDURES IN PLACE.” The juxtaposition mocks Russia’s assurances of preparedness, suggesting that its established response to catastrophe is to conceal the danger rather than confront it. The reference to the Soviet cover-up of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster reinforces the cartoon’s warning about official secrecy and public safety. Signed “Bramhall ’26” and “NYDN” at bottom right.
