This guy might’ve been another cut gen 4 grass starter concept. Of course, Turtwig was picked as the grass starter in the end. This guy’s palette would later be reused for the snover line, and its leaf bow was given to Rowlet. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX

Along with the beta sprite we knew about, there was also this design for Prinplup. Like final Empoleon, the beta had a finger on its flipper. This design also featured more icy looking details that would be carried into beta Empoleon. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

This happy little guy has a couple designs. The body pretty much stayed the same in the designs, but each featured a different hat. #Pokemon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX #BetaMon

Oops! This one is a couple months old but I straight-up forgot to upload it even though I think it's adorable. Commission of Apple taking a bite out of her property! #elizamon #betamon #digimon #fanart

Back during Gen 2’s development, there was a little two legged snow ball rabbit. It appears they might’ve tried revisiting that concept in Gen 4 except instead of it being a snow ball, it was a rice ball. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX

This cut gen 4 lotus mantis dragon probably went on to inspire Lurantis in gen 7. This design kinda reminds me of flygon a little bit. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

Game Freak are the experts in cutting happy grass lizards. This gen 4 one looks to be based on cabbage or lettuce and frill lizards. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX

This cotton candy mouse thst was cut from Gen 4 was probably reworked into swirlix in gen 6. At this point, it was apparently normal/ground typed. #Pokemon #Betamon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

This is Hoozukin. It’s a little red riding hood inspired mon that got cut from Gen 4. There’s a chance it was probably combined with the other cut gen 4 grass mon, Melolyri, to make Petilil. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

Gen 4 had this cut cute little snail guy. We’d later get Sliggoo in Gen 6, but it was a little less basic than this snail. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX

Sprigatito was introduced in gen 9, but game freak floated the idea around of a grass cat starter all the way back in gen 4. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX

Purugly originally stayed closer to glameow’s body shape. It also had devil horn shaped ears and its tail fluff went around its neck like a boa instead of around its waist like the final. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX

This cut Gen 4 line featured a mouse that evolved into multiple mice. This concept would later be reused in Gen 9 with the tandemaus line. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

Two pika clones were worked on during Gen 4’s development. One got cut but its palette was used as pachirisu’s shiny and the other was reworked into shinx. Shinx’s shiny actually took this design’s color scheme. #Pokemon #BetaMon #IbisPaintX #DigitalArt

Despite Hokkaido’s known bear population, there wasn’t a new bear introduced in gen 4. One was planned, and it was called Yasuraguma. It appears to be sleepy all the time like Snorlax and Komala. #Pokemon #BetaMon #DigitalArt #IbisPaintX
