Mass Ibis death at Lake Weeroona #Bendigo.
I went to have a look just then. Some Ibis looking very lethargic, not moving. They’re usually so active. Way less Ibis than when I was there Wednesday. Don’t know if it’s H5N1 bird flu yet but whatever it is it’s distressing.

Already a decent game… Worth giving up one’s Saturday evening for. Am going for Hawthorn coz of my dad being a Hawks tragic plus Ginnivan went to my sons’ school in #Bendigo (he’s from Castlemaine) and I promised my dad I’d get him a witch’s hat if they make the granny.

RIP Blanche D’Alpuget.
Was privileged to interview and meet her at the 2014 #Bendigo Writers Festival (back when it was good… and on..)
I recall she wished to talk about her historical fiction but all anyone else wanted to talk about was Bob Hawke. She was lovely.

Well this is quite the first half for the Hawks! Some excellent snatches, excellent set shots,
ruthless play. And #Bendigo ‘s own / #Castlemaine ‘s own Jack Ginnivan, home town boy fab out there with passes etc. (Pies loss saying farewell to him but that’s their problem)
