Follow Gill/Jill, which one? The one in the pale blue jumper, which one? The one with glasses, which one? The one with the white bob haircut 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Rounds, PB6, Stedman 5, Cambs 6 and G7 rung with mixed levels of success #bellringing

20 folks at the Branch Practice at Wallingford tonight. A great session that included Rounds on 10, PB5, G5, PH7, G7, Stedman 7, PB7, PH9, Stedman 9, half a course of Cambs 8 and finishing with LB10 and a lovely lower of all 10. I'm ready for a lie down now 🥱 #bellringing

Got stuck in and called some more changes tonight, not totally confident getting the band back into rounds yet but will stick at it #bellringing

I didn't count all the bodies in the room but we had 3 Richards with us. We rang lots of rounds for those that needed it. Duncan did well with his G7, we had 2 bands try some Norwich 6 with varying results & finished with some Stedman 7. Thanks to our Blewbury friends for bolstering us #bellringing

Some pretty reasonable Bob Doubles last night #bellringing

Sorry to say that Stedman wasn't meant to be again. But after a quick brain switch by all, especially Andy, we were successful in getting Richard through his first quarter peal tonight. He did very very well 👏 #bellringing

Non stop for some of our ringers this week, ringing Thurs, Fri, twice on Sat & back with smiley faces this morning. But they didn't need me to ring up. Alternating between Stedman 5 and Plain Hunt 5 a couple of times each, then finished with PB6. Bells left up for quarter attempt later #bellringing

"Katie says bell-ringing helps people slow down in a fast-moving world, even if it is not always relaxing.
'You're learning quite a lot. I wouldn't say it's quite relaxing in that way, but you're not in the world of technology when you're doing it.'"

Out of area but I do like the ancient truths that come through in this story and, while agnostic, I enjoy visiting these outstanding churches | BBC News #Lincolnshire | 4 October 2026:

We took part in the Guild 6 bell striking competition finals at Chearsley where we enjoyed a great tea. Our Instagram friends from Kingston, Kate and Paul Flavell were very good judges who were surprised to hear these were tower teams, not Branch teams participating. Results in pic #bellringing

Thanks to Gill for looking after the Branch Surprise Major Practice at Drayton this morning. Only 9 of us and we had to leave early as Mr and I are competing in the Guild 6 Bell Striking Comp later. Good session though, with lots of progress made in Cambridge, Yorkshire and Superlative #bellringing

We tried some bobs in Stedman 7 at Blewbury tonight, but they went a bit odd 😆 (The Guild Newsletter is called Odd Bob) We got a plain course though, along with PB6, and PB7, some Stedman 5 and Grandsire 7, Cambridge 6, then finished with Little Bob 8 #bellringing

Happy #LincolnshireDay! I've done some #bellringing to celebrate, appropriately ringing #Lincolnshire Surprise Major.

The flag of the historic county of Lincolnshire, in England, UK: a red cross lined in gold with a gold fleur-de-lys in its centre, and the four quadrants of the flag alternately green (upper-left and lower-right) and blue (upper-right and lower-left).

Called some pretty good changes on six tonight, just one wrong call but was pretty confident with my calling #bellringing

I was lucky enough to be asked to ring in another quarter peal to welcome Laurence as Rector of Letcombe Regis today. I haven't rung here before so it was great to be involved. Someone else is posting to Belboard but I did see a photo of the band after ringing 1260 St Clements CB6 #bellringing

Mr has been over to Childrey tonight. They have new solar lights along the path. Some dodging practice, ringing up and down and PB5 practiced #bellringing

This weeks ringing to date has seen some decent plain courses of Grandsire and I've called some plain hunt on 5 #bellringing

@bennettsbells.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 8:25 PM

Intimate practice this evening meant Roger practiced R&CC on 3 different bells. Richard (pic) practiced tenor behind for S5, G5 & PB5, ready for his 1st quarter attempt on Sunday. We also rang a course of Cambs 6 and PB6 for Duncan. Busy weekend of ringing coming up, so watch this space #bellringing

Thanks to our friends Mary, Richard & Helen (who stepped in for a poorly Gill), we rang all 8 for a wedding today. The service was a small one & after 2 well struck courses of both G7 & PB7 & getting the bells down, we discovered we were all alone and the church had been locked 😲 #bellringing

Loved ringing in the striking competition yesterday, in football terms we finished mid table #bellringing
