Most of the waders were well out in the bay during my walk, but this Curlew was feeding a little closer in, giving me the chance to catch it with a worm in its beak.

Nature’s larder is full of rich autumnal colours just now from the rose hips to seabuckthorn, apples and Salicornia (more edible when younger tender shoots). All dotted around the #BelhavenBay shoreline.
Oystercatchers resting on the sandbars as the tide flowed in at #BelhavenBay #EastLothian. Numbers build through autumn as wintering birds join those resident here year-round, with some maybe travelling from as far afield as Iceland, Norway and the Faroes.
Definite autumnal feel down at #BelhavenBay as golden hour approached. Three #littleegrets were out in the bay - too far away for me to really capture, but nice to watch & experience.
