So this past week, I tried bead embroidery! And the results are stunning. Used some of the techniques posted in Jamie C. Eakin's 𝘋𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘌𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘺. 24x27 black onyx cabochon and assorted glass beads.

The Eye of Polyphemus.

24x27 onyx cabochon bezeled with 6/0 opaque white seed beads as the base row, then peyote-bound with Toho 8/0 silver-lined grey and 11/0 frosted gold-lined black diamond seed beads. The bail and edging are also the gold-lined 11/0 Toho beads. Duo-toned beads make up the fringe.

A close up of the necklace. 8x12 mm black rectangular beads are spaced with the Toho seed beads. More dual-toned nugget beads match the fringe.
