After what was likely our last 20°C+ day of 2026 in parts of the BC Lower Mainland, a system is making its way down the coast!
While sun looks to return after some lgt rain/showers Fri & Sat AM, the airmass will be markedly more fall like.
Be aware of ❄️ over the passes!

Just missed the most epic Vancouver sunset where I could finally pull over after getting off the freeway and take a bit of a shot. I hope and expect somebody got something better! 😭

While just one app, not sure I can recall such an extended dry period likely for the BC Coast in October, when normally we enter our wetter months. Oct the 4th wettest.
While some discrepancy on high placement, the amt of heat, & risk of fog.. it’s gonna be dry!

Picture perfect Sunday in Metro Vancouver on this first weekend of autumn 2026 — after a wet system to start the week, it looks like an extended dry stretch is upon us with temps trending above normal.

(Normals currently near 17°C)

Not often we see a convergence zone across Metro Vancouver, but we have one that’s developed and pushing S thru Metro Van… Northern burbs are already in the clearing while southern areas can expect heavy rain at times as it sags south into Whatcom county, WA

Incoming boundary toward the BC Lower Mainland — expect a brief period of heavier rain with its passage then a quick drop off after. Winds will pick up in behind this feature. Expect passage from W to E over the next 2-3hours.

I’m home so back to our usual programming of convection dying as it moves into the more stable atmosphere of Metro Vancouver lowlands losing the additional lift provided by the mountains. 😝
