#BBCR4Today Televising a #FiringSquad, as #Trump's man #Hesgeth has arranged, is the behaviour of a despotic regime. Shame on #America - what have you allowed yourself to become?

#BBCR4Today seems to be ignoring Sagal Abdi-Wali so far. She won Holborn & St Pancras with a positive campaign. Quite insulting to make it so much about Polanski.

… Interviewees were chosen for knowledge not “balance” and brought genuine insight. Even the human interest story at the end was genuinely feel good and not a confected “how completely devastated were you by that…?” Emma Barnett mess. Bravo. Puts the currently unlistenable-to #BBCR4Today to shame.

Whilst its good that #bbcr4today recognised the death of Margaret Hamilton and her role as the lead programmer for the Apollo program, the presenter made a horrendous mistake by saying she was one of the few women. 'human computers' were predominately women.

Interesting editorial choice #bbcr4today on Russia today. An extended piece on the rumour of a death at a plague research institute in Siberia. Meanwhile Russia (almost certainly them) sinks 3 Turkish ships in NATO waters this week - and no mention? An actual grey zone escalation story, ignored.

No wonder a #bbcr4today presenter had to got off air mid programme yesterday thanks to losing his voice - he was at what seems like the interminable Tory party conference. I could swear it started last week and is still going - so many days trailing their announcments I guess. A party Party conf.

Its vital that the MoD Skynet contract goes to Airbus and not to a US company - with their lifetime, cant rely on US support always for their use and maintenance in future. #bbcr4today Worth noting that UK seems to be using SpaceX Starshield also, a dedicated US military version of Starlink.

I dont normally listen BBC Radio 4 today , these days.. listening to the nonsense on Tories polling.. as if the polls never move .. ridiculous.. a week is a long time in politics .. never mind 3 years

Jeffrey Archer was apparently a particularly dedicated writer. According to #BBCR4Today, he died ‘between writing sessions’. Posthumous writing- I wonder how that went?

Dear #bbcnews #bbcr4today #bbcpm a constant refrain on your AI coverage has been how UK cant afford/is too small to have a sovereign AI model. Well, most other European countries have companies (with/without government support) producing european models. Can you open your framing up to reality pls

Item on smashed rose-coloured glasses of political nostalgia with @deborahmattinson.bsky.social and *reaches for lead-lined anorak* Charles Moore, taking the Simon Clarke line. 🙄 #BBCR4Today 2h34m

Alexis Petridis talking about Syd Barrett on #BBCR4Today 1h25m in. New exhibition of Syd's work mentioned, but god forbid they let you know where... bio.site/CamOpen.space. Lots of events too, including a gig Sat 10 Oct; If you've yet to hear @scribblerrob.bsky.social on Syd, catch him Fri 9 Oct 2pm

Why, in the name of all that is holy, does #BBCR4Today have Tim Stanley as a regular speaker on Thought for the Day?

Simone Rossi, EDF CEO, told #BBCR4Today that new British gas and oil was a no brainer. He must be smart, so why did he skirt the staggering costs of keeping this country exposed to gas and oil? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

#BBCR4Today If the #FairfordFive are simply #Petrol spivs who reported themselves to the police, how come #Trump "already knew about them" as he claims?

@ianpatterson.comSep 30, 2026, 6:43 AM

Gove is talking rubbish #bbcr4today. Other countries have moved to nationalise water services - Berlin for example did it for the city of Berlin not long ago. To say EU bans it is rubbish. Other countries have zero rated, temporarily, some items too.

Just bizarre Care Service interview by #bbcr4today Nick Robinson on two fronts: the pretence that what Burnham has said so far constitutes a nitpickable proposal as opposed to just a stake in ground. Second, the idea that all hospital care is delivered as in-patient is patently nonsense...

@smith-brocca.bsky.socialSep 29, 2026, 7:58 AM

Will #BBCR4Today please stop obsessing about the "Triple Lock". It's not a good look when overpaid journalists with gold plated pensions actively promote cuts to one of the meanest state pensions in Europe.
