Time for one of the best episodes ever: "Almost Got 'im."

I know it's a kid's show and all, and it might have given the plot away too soon, but they were cowards to not give Francine Langstrom bat-boobs.
They follow up the furry episode with the werewolf episode; were the writers on a kick of some kind?
Also, a werewolf who just happens to be called Anthony Romulus? Real sublte, guys.

Supergirl bombed. Again. Not a creative failure — a structural one.
DC's gods don't belong on live action screens. They never did. The DCAU figured this out 30 years ago.

Ah right, Tyger Tyger, the furry episode; this totally didn't have some kind of profound effect on my brain chemistry in my pre-adolescence...

I wonder if millennial techbros' obsession with artificial intellect's potential to make robot girlfriends came from watching Heart of Steel and seeing Randa Duane; yowza.

Things really step up a gear during the second half when events move to Storybook land & the references to Wonderland come cascading at you in rapid succession & the rules of the game change, with walls literally reorganising themselves according to the dealer's pleasure.
Roddy owns the episode, but he is partnered by a lovely performance from Kimmy Robertson as the pleasant Alice of his dreams, wonderfully portraying being happy in love & the naivety of not knowing what's right in front of her.
Able to sound young & old at the same time, Roddy perfectly encapsulates the fun childlike wonder of discovering the world anew, an intellectual professionalism & a very sinister vengeful spirit willing to chop off a head or two to stop anyone preventing him achieving his dream
In one of the most calooh callay pieces of casting ever, Roddy McDowall, (who played Bookworm in the 60's series, read the audiobook for Tim Burton's Batman & even played the March Hare in Irwin Allen's 1985 production of Alice in Wonderland), is utterly magnificent as the Hatter
MAD AS A HATTER
Things get curiouser & curiouser as one of Batman's original core enemies arrives to provide a frabjous dose of accentuated perculiarity & mind controlling mayhem, while touching upon the sadness of someone forced into extreme lengths to avoid walking this world alone.
