Als Frauen haben wir aktuell viele Gründe auf die Straßezu gehen: der Genozid in Palästina wird weitergeführt, digitale sexualisiene Gewalt wie im Fall von Claudia Wuttke oder Collien Fernandes nimmt zu und jeden Tag wird ein Femizid in Deutschland verübt. Immer wieder zeigt sich, dass wenn wir als Frauen, gerade wegen diesen Themen auf die Straße gehen, massive Repressionen von Polizei und Staat erfahren. Wie die deutsche Polizei und die Politik mit protestierenden Frauen umgeht, zeigte sich nicht zuletzt am 7.10. bei der Until Total Liberation Demo. Von Schlägen mit der Faust ins Gesicht, Schmerz- und Würgegriffen bei Festnahmen bis zu wahllosen, gewaltsamen Einprügeln auf Demonstrierende. Die Erfahrungen zeigen, dass Frauen anders behandelt werden. Polizisten, die gezielt auf Demonstrationen Frauen sexistisch beleidigen, sie würgen, ihnen ins Gesicht schlagen, an den Haaren ziehen oder sie zu Nacktdurchsuchungen zwingen. Auch Trans-Personen berichten, wie sie zu Nacktdurchsuchungen gezwungen werden unter Vorwand der „Feststellung des Geschlechts". Geflüchtete Frauen, die an den EU-Außengrenzen und in Deutschland sexistische Gewalt durch Behörden erfahren. Und das …

Organised by social workers. WHO OR WHAT IS THE LONG NIGHT OF SOCIAL WORK? A job in social work – not just a position or a job, no, it’s meant to be a calling. But social work takes its toll on us; it preoccupies us – often before it begins and whilst we’re in the thick of it, and mostly afterwards: when the last email of the day has been sent, the last crisis meeting documented, and the last team meeting finished. We come home after work, exhausted, to hear about cuts. ‘Political’ decisions whose consequences we can already foresee. We are angry. We must stand up for ourselves, organise, and still find the time and space to exist beyond our profession – but when? WE NEED A PLACE WHERE THERE IS ROOM FOR ALL OF THIS. The Long Night of Social Work is organised by a collective of social workers. We want to break out of isolation. To organise events where we make demands and network. To raise the profile of social work, but also to chill out, party and shout into microphones. BECAUSE WHAT WE EXPERIENCE EVERY DAY HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE – AND IT WANTS TO! For that, we need space – space for creative engagement with uncertainty, feeling overwhelmed, hopes and visions. Space for encounters, exchange and community. Space for light-heartedness, for anger, for showing ourselves and celebrating ourselves. THIS NIGHT IS LONG AND BELONGS TO SOCIAL WORK! COME ALONG!
