Painting for this week's art project for @all4inclusion run by @disabled_life_2b_lived This weeks theme is Harvest.

I decided to take this in an unusual direction and looked at the harvesting of teeth, which has gone on since ancient times.

ID A row of teeth showing 2 harvested teeth held in place with wire wraps. This is from an ancient dental technique.
Early Beginnings: The Etruscans and the First Dentures
Believe it or not, dentures date back over 2,700 years. Around 700 BCE, the Etruscan civilisation in what is now Italy created some of the first known false teeth. These early dentures weren’t the sleek prosthetics we know today. Instead, the Etruscans used human or animal teeth and fastened them together with gold wire or bands to replace missing teeth for the wealthy and elite

Painting for this week's art project for @all4inclusion run by @disabled_life_2b_lived This weeks theme is Buildings

#BarbaraHulmeFineArtist #WatercolourPortraits #PortraitArtist #DisabledArtist #DisabilityInclusion #ContemporaryArt #ArtForSale #MentalHealth #InternationalArtist #ArtTutor

ID For this week's theme I have drawn a Boot and made that into a building, thinking of the old woman who lived in a shoe as a theme. So far I have got the undercoat of the shades o the boot done and the sole of the boot. The boot also features random windows. I am still pondering if or what I should put in the background.

The Autumn Equinox prompted a class @artistinresidence.co combining folk art, cuckoo clocks & Eastern European harvest festival costume.
This drawing series will be part of the monthly artist trading card swap there #onlineartclass #arttutor #drawing #ATC #artisttradingcards #paintpen #ink #gouache

6 x artist trading cards - 2 rows of 3. All are drawn using portrait format.
Each row has 2 folk art figures and 1 cuckoo clock. They are drawn with bright, flat colour - the result of acrylic paint pens, some gouache, tied together with black ink line. The figures are dressed in various stylised Eastern European costume - one riding a creature that might be a cow, goat or horse!
