This fits all of the criteria. And belongs higher if I were ranking on quality alone - but, here. (I also guess I don’t want everyone to think that my entire existence is to promote Evan 🤔 )

Thieves Like Us
New Order
Not only a brilliant A side but Lonesome Tonight makes this a contender for New Order's all time best single
2nd collaboration from the sessions with Arthur Baker it's come a long way from original demo

💿 ‘The Drowners’ single
@graeme-36.bsky.social#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles 11/15
Good morning,
yes another Clash single that somehow didn't find it's way onto an album when it first saw the light of day except, bizarrely on the US release of the debut album.
The b side is City Of The Dead
@julesgray.bsky.socialDay 11: The Kinks - Autumn Almanac
This was released in October 1967 and therefore arrived too late for inclusion on Something Else by The Kinks. One of many tracks I could have chosen by the group.

@endaguinan.comDay 11: Texas Sun * Khruangbin & Leon Bridges
The collab started when Khruangbin sent Bridges an instrumental titled “Awesome Guitar Loop”. He sent it back the next day with vocals. They liked working together enough to return for a second EP, Texas Moon, in 2022.

Bless my cotton socks!
Reward - The Teardrop Explodes
@davidef.bsky.social11 - Madonna - Justify My Love
Definitely in my top 5 Madge singles. The song was a bold move out of the mainstream, but she was rewarded with yet another international smash. The single is packed with bonkers remixes worth checking out.

Barbra recorded the gorgeous "If I Close My Eyes" for 1972's "Up The Sandbox", but it didn't chart, she's never performed it, and was only on her 1991 5 disc box set🤷♂️

Another debut single without an album home but launching the Machinations was this great track “Average Inadequacy” in 1981 only charting at 98!

Post a song from a fave artist that did not appear on a studio album.
10/10; Toast Of The Town by Motley Crue (1981)
B-side to Stick To Your Guns; which in of itself, almost qualifies for this challenge.

Day 10
Wynn Stewart - Wishful Thinking
Not as well known as some of his county music contemporaries but Wynn was more or less the father of the Bakersfield sound. This was his first top 10 hit from 1959.

Day 11 》Bad Day • R.E.M.
The new single on the 2003 best of album In Time 1988-2003.
@brentsky.bsky.socialTalk of the Town - Pretenders
Released as a stand alone single in 1980 between the confusingly named (for me anyway) Pretenders and Pretenders II and included on Pretenders - Extended Play (pics) but not Pretenders (an EP).
