Any other #MinCup26 match, I'd vote #arsenopyrite all the way. BUT this year I visited the #Wieliczka Salt Mines in Poland. And we were explicitly told that it was "okay to lick the walls" if we wanted. So #halite all the way this #MinCup.

Yes, these sculptures are made of salt.

Statues made of salt - a servant hands a queen a small box that contains her own engagement ring, according to a Polish legend.

Cannot believe that people are voting for boring old salt instead of stinky poison gravel

#Arsenopyrite because poison! But so is #Halite in the right dose!

I was nearly swayed by #arsenopyrite in today's #MinCup26 match, I do like the wavey AsS arms sticking out of the iron units. But for a crystallographer #halite is the ultimate classic, literally the first crystal structure ever determined (by the Braggs) so that gets my vote today

Image representing the crystal structure of arsenopyrite. Yellow spheres represent sulfur atoms, green spheres represent arsenic and brown spheres/polygons represent iron atoms. The structure is viewed down its a-axis, and shows off that the AsS attached to the iron units make a zig-zag through the structure. The representation is drawn in VESTA from entry #112 in the American mineralogist database.Image representing the crystal structure of halite. #MinCup26 Round 1 Match 13
It's a match between a mineral you want to be cautious breathing near and one you eat every day as arsenic-rich #arsenopyrite is against table salt #halite.
