Listened to a bit of #AnyAnswers on R4. It’s clear that millions of people still believe “there’s no money” bollox being spouted constantly by governments and the media. There is plenty of money.

Listening to R4’s #AnyAnswers is injurious one’s health. I’m just shouting aloud at the bigotry, racism and insensitivity of some of the callers. Given the bias of our mainstream and social media, this is sadly unsurprising.

Caller allowed to make false claim

A caller named Terry on Any Answers made the false claim that Nigel Farage's speech at the Reform conference was delayed because an "explosive device" was placed on the stage. Reform UK stated that Farage was late on stage due to "security concerns". The West Midlands Police were quoted as saying: “The decision to delay the commencement of the leader of Reform UK’s keynote speech was made by Reform UK. We can confirm that Counter Terrorism Policing have had no involvement in the delivery of the Reform UK Party Conference 2026.” I have not heard this claim reported anywhere else and it appears to be totally groundless.

This claim by Terry was not questioned or challenged. Presenter Kylie Pentelow did not even ask him where he had heard this information. I am shocked an appalled that basic fact checking does not appear to be present on a call-in show and that such misinformation is allowed to be broadcast on a major BBC programme.

A caller on BBC Radio 4 #anyanswers just said that there was an explosive device found on the stage, which is what delayed Farage. He was not fact checked or challenged in any way.
Seriously, do the BBC just allow disinformation now?

Genuine caller on #AnyAnswers - (ranting in Northern accent) "I don't care if Reform take money from Al Qaida as long as I'm not paying for room service for immigrants in hotels".
