A #Roman cheese press, found at Balmuildy fort on the #AntonineWall (Scotland).

The cheese was put in the press & pressed down by a weight, forcing out any moisture through the holes. The resulting cheeses would have the concentric circle pattern from the press 🧀 #Archaeology #AncientBlueSky
