Late afternoon, coming back from a long road run around local lanes--all intensely autumnal out there, with pumpkin harvesting and last haymaking going on, & roadsides littered with generous drifts of acorns and hickory nuts. Caught this #SkyPortrait as I was walking the final section.

View of sky mostly covered in light patchy cloud, brightly underlit, the blue of the sky darkening, and in silhouette below a line of trees with a house gable visible at lower left.

New semester schedule is intense (two weeks gone already?!), so it was bliss to get out to enjoy the Summit Run 5K this morning. Light rain throughout, but still 167 runners showed. V well organised race, as ever -- and winning an Atkins apple pie was icing on the cake!
#AmRunning #Fall2026

White box with apple designs, labelled "Atkins Farms Country Market - Framing since 1887 - www.atkinsfarms.com" with a window showing some of the pie inside. Next to the box on a table is a race bib and a Garmin watch.Same image but with the box open to show the pie in all its glory: parts glistening golden, parts sandy brown, it has c couple of air slits cut into it, and it absolutely fills the large box.
