A nearly complete ~2.6-million-year-old buffalo skull from Ethiopia reveals a new small-bodied species of 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘶𝘴, with short, widely divergent horns.

It looks surprisingly similar to young and small African buffalo!
