Before #AmandaNguyen became a TIME Woman of the Year, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, astronaut and internationally recognized civil rights advocate, she was #JaneDoe ~ a survivor fighting a system that failed her.

She turned her own fight for justice into a fight for survivors everywhere ♥️

AMANDA NGUYEN
SURVIVOR • ADVOCATE • CHANGE MAKER
After being raped at Harvard in 2013, Amanda Nguyen faced not only trauma, but a system that failed survivors. Instead of staying silent, she turned her pain into purpose-
-exposing flaws, demanding
accountability, and changing the law for survivors everywhere.
THE HARVARD CASE A SYSTEM THAT FAILED HER
HAREADD
THE CORNELL CASE A DECADE LATER, THE SAME FAILURES In 2024, a Cornell student was assaulted at the Chi Phi fraternity house.
CORNELL
She faced a victim-blaming environment, a "voluntary intoxication loophole, and a complex Title IX process that led to suspensions and expulsions instead of criminal charges-raising the same concerns about how elite institutions handle sexual violence.
AMANDA NGUYEN'S STORY MATTERS BECAUSE IT REVEALS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM-THEN AND NOW.
Survivors should not have to fight institutions, evidence rules, and legal systems just to seek justice and accountability.

At the UN, #AmandaNguyen asked each speaker/honoree to share her baby photo, a reminder that before these women became iconic, they were powerless little girls with dreams.

Amanda’s message was powerful:
The girl in all of us is still there.
Do it for her
Speak up for her ♥️
