I finished #SpringoftheBlade (great stuff but nowhere near depth of #AgainsttheCurrent) & now rewatching #AlchemyofSouls Season 2 while waiting for episodes to drop. Sick in bed with virus so dramas & books for me.

I think it depends if someone is new to asian dramas in general 🤔

It's quite out there for a Kdrama. I can understand people not liking it. I loathed #DearHongrang - abuse porn as I call it - but regretfully watched it for #LeeJaeWook because missing him since #AlchemyofSouls. I do believe Netflix Kdrama is skewing for Western tastes including sex & violence.

I finished #AlchemyOfSouls S1&2. You were right: S1 was better: 9/10. S2 was good but not great: 8/10. The show tiptoed right up to the edge of the problem of the concentration of power in society… and then left the benevolent dictators in charge. As long as they’re benevolent it’s fine, you guys.

I’m coming yo the end of #AlchemyOfSouls S2 and the adoration for the rich and total disregard for everyone else just keeps rolling. On the same day two secondary characters are attacked. Guess which one has everyone freaking out and breaking rules to save? Guess which one lies there forgotten?
