Looking in to a jail cell at Alcatraz Prison in San Francisco Bay. Wouldn't want to be closed in here, that's for sure!

The barred metal door is half open so visitors can peek inside a cell at the infamous Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay in California. Not much to see inside except for the knowledge that nobody would want to be here with the door closed.

Agave Stalk

An agave—often called a century plant—in bloom at Alcatraz Island, San Francisco. Despite the name, century plants don't usually live for 100 years; many flower after a decade or two, producing a spectacular stalk before the parent plant dies.
