When the subject of poetry comes up,
my guest says to me:
“No further words are needed;
its history is love.”

They say that when a poet dies, the birds migrate out of season…

Your voice and that lovely smile of yours will always be with us, Master…

🇹🇷 Ahmet Telli'ye ithaf edilen 2. Maltepe Kitap Günleri başlıyor

Poetry suits us best,
Then the rain falling upon the earth,
The blue of the sky…
And loyalty suits us best,
The love in our hearts,
The humility in our eyes…
And life suits us best,
In a human way,
With love,
With honour…

Come and be my guest one evening
Let’s sit and chat, just the two of us
Let’s light the torch of memories
and make the night last a little longer

Let’s bid farewell to the past
and talk about the days we’ve lived
and the smoky, sooty air
that hangs over those days
…
