@ajgardineresq.bsky.socialKudos to the oracle behind "didtheswanswin" (on X) who pointed out angry guys in crisis can 'over-perform'.
And boy, did the #Bloods perform yesterday!
This bloke's a shrink, who knows a thing or two about channeling anger (I dreaded flipping the TV on for #AFLSwansLions; I should have listened).
@crowdiegal.bsky.social#AFLSwansLions Sydney cast aside everything to cause an all time finals upset to join Hawthorn with a week off. Brisbane await the winner of Adelaide v Western Bulldogs next week.
Sydney 141 defeated Brisbane Lions 88
@tanjay81.bsky.socialAmazing whole of team effort by the boys today - with every single Swan registering at least 1 score involvement. Despite the majority of media and commentators not giving them a chance - they stood up, played with heart and made us all so proud. ❤️🤍 #Bloods #GoSwans #AFLFinals #AFLSwansLions
@allaussierules.bsky.socialSydney demolish Brisbane to book a home Preliminary Final #aflswanslions
@wilks6.bsky.socialReally pleased for my very good friends @mariaintassie.bsky.social & @ko-alla.bsky.social
Say what you like about footy. When you buy in to your club, when you really care, then events like the last few weeks hurt
A win like today doesn't remove the bad. But it soothes the heart
@ajgardineresq.bsky.socialA guy can dream, can't he?

@andrewgigacz.bsky.socialBrisbane has played three games in Sydney this year and lost them all by a combined margin of 175 points.
@mariaintassie.bsky.socialJust extraordinary. The Swans showed fortitude today that I didn’t think they had. So proud. #AFL #AFLSwansLions
@rohanconnolly65.bsky.socialJust on another planet today, Sydney. Incredible. As committed a team performance as I've seen, unstoppable. Gulden, Papley unbelievable, career-best stuff from McDonald. No way I'm writing Lions off, but going to take same sort of soul-searching as after last year's QF loss to Cats. #AFLSwansLions
@darmurp.bsky.socialBrisbane Lions have only won 3 games this year while being behind at qrt time
To win from here would be the
- biggest overturned margin (current 22 against WCE @ R18)
- biggest overturned qrt time margin (currently 15 against WCE @ R18)
@mariaintassie.bsky.socialWhat a quarter! Marred only by Mills’ injury. Let’s keep this going Swans. #AFL #AFLSwansLions
@ajgardineresq.bsky.socialJesus H Christ.
Dare I believe they can win this?
