✍🏽 Virgil (c. 70-19 BCE) spent the last 11 years of his life writing the Aeneid, only to die before it was completed. He requested that it be destroyed upon his death, but Augustus had other plans, and the book was published with minor edits soon after Virgil’s death.Â
