Inktober Artbook of the Demonking Kasra, doing what he loves most: reading ♥ He is reading a book by a norwegian author: "Swim with those who drown" a book im currently reading myself. When I did the lineart I forbid myself to be fast. I wanted to put an extra load of effort into this; as a librarian I cannot draw low-effort books and as a Kasra fan... I have to give him all the time he demands!

Inktober artwork of the twins Lunari and Asteri, one half covered in shadow, the other one in water. Maybe you think now "aha?", but I swear, come back to this artwork after reading book 5 and you will... see. The artwork is based on the cover of the Mawaru Penguindrum artbook. Ive tried to make them look close to identical, without using my light desk. Which was quite a trial! Ive always, ALWAYS loved Twins, even before Fatal Frame 2, so Im happy that I have Adqualucia where "twins" play such a prominent role, not just for the story, but for the lore itself (you will see... you will see....)

Finally! Oh god FINALLY! This took WAY TOO LONG. But I had so much fun with redesigning especially Lycram! He is one of the characters I wanted to improve my anatomy skills for. I just wanted him to have a muscular body (while still having a fine waist because... the kombi of muscles and a fine waist is... just so... sexy and we all know... Ri-Il has a fine taste in men). The biggest question I had while drawing this was... who should be taller in Adqualucia? I think both options have their benefits and Ri-Il being taller or smaller then Lycram is both... amazing. So I couldnt decided so i settled more or less on their DeA heights. I mean Ri-Ils hair makes him appear taller then he is. To design Lycram was a challenge, which took me four hours alone. I thought a lot about which outfit would fit to the story at his point and of course also how the outfit works (the old one didnt worked at all, which was extremely irritating for me). Lycram makes his entry as a war hero, who is in the city to get some medals for his deeds from the king, so I thought it would make sense for him to look at little "extra"; he is invited by the king himself after all.... I longed for a tunic for him to be honest and I think it suits him perfectly! And of course those muscles should also be seen, hm!! But just to be clear, the left side is not open, of course not. You will see that when I first color it. I wanted our Bad Romance to be contrasted in their designs, not just in colors, but also in terms of shape and overall style. Ri-Il is simple, Lycram has more details. Lycrams hair is flowly, Ri-Ils is more shapy and pointy. Lycram is assymetrial, Ri-Il not. Lycram has more decor, but must of this is not gold or glass, but metal, so fit to his profession as a blacksmith. I also wanted to keep some core elements of his DeA outfit, just as the ribbons around his chest, the crest on his shoulder, his earrings, the collar... still wearing boots of course.

Inktober-Artwork that shows Nocturn in the center and two figures from behind, in venezian styled windows; Kasra on the left and Menuét in the right. I had such a fun time with Nocturns skinny body! I must admit that I am pretty proud <3 I tried to give Kasra "real" braided hair and of course I also worked on his body even though we can only see him from behind. Drawing braided her like this isnt natural for me yet, but I am looking forward to learn it, so that Kasra can have the hair I imagine for him /o/ Menuéts hair is so funny to draw, as it it this huge mass of uncontrolled hair...!

When I sat down to make this, I knew it would be hard, as Aoi is one of Himis core characters and we are all used to his spiky hair, that look a lot like a certain very popular official character. But I knew, to make Aoi fully "my own" character I had to give him an overhaul and somehow... it worked so smoothly. Like when I did the first sketch I was like "yes. this is Aoi." I must say I LOVE how he turned out uwu ♥ It will take some time to get used to him, for me and everyone who has followed Himi since day one, but I hope you can accept this Aoi in your heart uwu! Oh and Narumi is not small, Aoi is just rather tall. He is 182cm. Ive put a lot of thought into their uniforms! I wanted them to look a little japanese, but not too much. Both are wearing the crest of Zeme-Zelia. Narumi on his belt, Aoi around his neck, placed on the chest (as it should). Not much changed about Narumi, I just braided his hair. Of course our little charming prince wears his hair differently from time to time!

Inktober artwork that shows Haydée, Narumi and Aoi entering one of the empires lighttrains. They are most likely taking the train without having the right tickets, or else Aoi wouldnt be facepalming like this... a little nod to the chapter at the start of their big journey, where they hid on the train. The train here is loosely bases on the legendary Venice Simplon Orient Express! I should have used a ruler, but I never use one, as it feels counter intuitive to me haha...

Inktober-Artwork done with Rohrer u. Klingner ink and Deleter 5 ink. The artwork shows Asteri, before the story starts, in the chamber he shares with Lunari in Zeme-Zelia. Lunari is off and about, doing mischief with Haydée. The proper Asteri stays behind, reading, singing for himself. Its a cold night. The artwork "takes place" at least one year before Adqualucia sets off, so he is younger on this artwork.

Here I thought "time for Nocturn, his design is fixed, this will go fast" NO IT DIDNT. Somehow I ended up upgrading his design even though I thought it would be fixed. I really worked on getting Nocturn to look as skinny as possible, with his long legs... which are maybe too long...? Hm. I imagine him to have longer legs then others, just to make him more "unnatural", but maybe I exaggerated. Hm. Lets see! Asteri wears the same outfit as on the first sketch, juts with a cape. After all they are on secret adventures hehe! .... can you spot all the Glasshipping hints haha

Honestly this is like a little dream coming true for me, as I finally drew them back to back. Their legs are a little bit on the Clamp-side of things... but I really like the shape of Haydées legs. Thats the direction I wanna go!! Tried to draw different profiles; Haydée more rounded, Asteri more elegant looking... but uh, thats a hard part. Dont know if I can stay on model with that. In general staying on-model is kinda challenging? This something I never really cared about, but I am doing now! So, yes, legs are too long, otherwise Im really happy with it <3 I redesigned the maid-uniform a little. You will see it proper when its Feullés time to be drawn! I love the huge bow. Huge bow was a must. And frills. Frills everywhere!

These sketches are not their character sheets or something like that, but training sketches for myself to pinpoint where they are different and how to draw them differently. Asteri is of course bigger. He is about a head bigger then her - 155cm vs 180cm. His legs are longer to incorporate that he is a dancer into his character design. Haydée has a less rounded hip then he has, to show that she is no woman yet, but still a teenager... Im working on getting to let Asteri look more feminine, but Im getting there!! Haydée has a more rounded face, again to show her childish side, while Asteris chin is more pointed, giving him a more elegant note. His eyelashes are ofc extreme. These new side "sparkles" are a way to make him look "special" and different then the others. I think once colored those lines will make his eyes look more like diamonds. Haydées eyelashes are always supposed to be filled out, so that her face is as expressive as possible. Both have big eyes, but Asteris are almond shaped (making him look "sexy" and "desirable"), while Haydées are round (lively and filled with adventure). Asteris hair is smooth and Haydées, while not curly are wavy and a little bit to the chaotic side. She has big chunks of hair, while Asteris hair strains are slim. He always has two strains of hair falling over his shoulder that are shorter then the rest. Haydées hair is not supposed to be longer then her elbows. Asteris go to his angles. Both are dressed in Zeme-Zelia attire, with is typically ornated with glass. Asteris wears a variation of a uniform all Ornated if Zeme-Zelia are wearing. Its just "pepped up" for his trip to Lerenien-Sei. The jacket is typically off when at home and the shirt underneath has a bare back, to show their jewels.
