We may have needed care or for our mothers to be supported - we did not need to be erased and have our lives permanently altered with no way to undo it. There was no reason to do this to us - just a choice to.

ADOPTEE TO ADOPTEE
NO EXPLANATION REQUIRED.

For the adoptee moment when you are too tired to translate yourself.

Use when you do not want to explain the grief, the anger, the questions, or the truth.

No backstory.
No defense.
No making it easier for other people to hear.

Just understood.

If you're an adoptee, you may recognize these points as adoption trauma that can activate or reactivate across a lifetime.

Sharing my work: Adoption Lifespan Activation Framework + the Adoption Trauma Spectrum.

Infographic titled "The Adoption Lifespan Activation Framework: A Lifespan Model of Adoption Trauma." Three stacked sections. Top: "Core Theoretical Foundations" — seven bodies of theory grouped as Trauma & Loss (Relinquishment Trauma, Complex PTSD, Ambiguous Loss, Disenfranchised Grief) and Attachment & Identity (Attachment Theory, Cultural-Racial Identity Model, Adoptee Consciousness Model). Middle: "The Adoption Trauma Spectrumjj" — nine activation points where trauma can surface or resurface: Relinquishment, Preverbal, Awareness, Adolescence, Late Discovery, Parenthood/Fertility, Reunion, Rejection, Complicated Grief. Bottom: five Developmental Domains — Early Relational Event, Adoption Context, Meaning-Making, Psychosocial Processes, and Psychosocial Outcomes (ranging from Healthy to Challenging). Arrows link the sections: foundations "ground," the spectrum "moderates."
Image 2 (Adoption Trauma Spectrum):

Dark navy graphic titled "The Adoption Trauma Spectrum." A single point on the left branches out via dashed lines to nine colored bars on the right, each a trauma activation point: Relinquishment, Preverbal, Awareness, Adolescence, Late Discovery, Parenthood, Reunion, Rejection, and Complicated Grief. Footer reads "Adoption Trauma Spectrum Framework."
