Daejeon did something a lot of #KLeague teams having trouble doing in the #ACLElite & that is beat a #JLeague as they won 1-0 vs Kyoto Sanga. The lone goal by Victor Bobsin & was a quality goal at that. Big statement for sure & more problems for Kyoto Sanga.

Gamba Osaka 4-1 Cong An Ha Noi

Bayern fans might recognize someone here. Way too easy though.

Cong an Ha Noi is a Chinese Super League who gave Gamba Osaka all they could handle. Quality though was just too much for the #CSL side. Yamashita with 3 assists, Usami had two goals & the story Yusei Toshida is amazing scoring in his first #ACLElite game.

ACLは馬鹿試合ばっかりで楽しそうだなぁ。やっぱり出場したい。

Newcastle Jets are finding out the quality in the #ACLElite not a good first game out for them vs a very good Kashima Antlers side. #ALeague

That was a debacle.

Grasping for positives, the subs in the 2nd half added some spark that lead to the goal. They had some good periods where they, if not controlled, held Kashima.

However, every time the #NewcastleJets had a bit of possession, a cheap turnover would lead to a goal. #ACLElite

Newcastle Jets will now have a 4 week break with no football to stew on a 7-1 loss to Kashima Antlers.

Then it's a home match against Gamba Osaka.

The APL need to fix this ridiculously long off-season problem.

A first half to not just forget but to lament. Having a lot of squad turnover and just the one competitive match since the end of last season is really showing.

Fingers crossed for an improved second half.
