About one in ten aces lived in Germany (10.4%) and the United Kingdom (9.3%), and 5.5% lived in Canada. Fewer than one in 20 ace respondents lived in Italy (3.4%), France (2.4%), Australia (2.3%), the Netherlands (2.0%), Spain (1.9%), Poland (1.7%), Brazil (1.4%), Finland (1.3%), or Hungary (1.2%). An additional 14.5% of ace respondents lived in other countriesBy continent, close to half of ace respondents (48.4%) lived in Northern America, and four in ten lived in Europe (40.5%). About one in 20 ace respondents lived in Latin America and the Caribbean (4.7%), 3.0% lived in Oceania, 3.0% lived in Asia, and only 0.3% lived in Africa. Continents are defined in accordance with the United Nations (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Statistics Division, n.d.).To balance the effect of more populous countries producing higher numbers of respondents,
the following table shows the number of ace survey respondents per one million inhabitants in
each country. For example, there were 18.5 aces who completed the 2024 Survey for every one
million inhabitants of Finland.

The last one has a white tick over it).Approximately one in three ace respondents who participated in an ace community first participated in their late teens (35.2%). About one in four participated in their early twenties (21.6%), roughly one in six in their early teens (15.1%), and one in eight in their late twenties (12.5%). Although the majority of aces participated between the ages of 10 and 30, there are ace respondents who first participated in an ace community after 30: 6.9% between 30 and 34 years old, 4.0% between 35 and 39 years old, 2.0% between 40 and 44 years old, 1.6% between 45 and 49 years old, 0.7% between 50 and 54 years old, 0.3% between 55 and 59 years old, and 0.2% over 60 years old. A smaller fraction of ace respondents (0.1%) first participated in an ace community when they were between 5 and 9 years old.

TW: Suicide

Today is the World Suicide Prevention Day.

As part of the 2022 survey report, we explored the suicide ideation and attempt rate of our respondents.

The last one has a white tick over it).Ace respondents who answered questions about suicide were asked if, during the previous 12 months, they had seriously considered attempting suicide. Of these respondents, 22.9% did consider attempting suicide. Moreover, 68.4% had not considered attempting suicide. The remaining 8.7% of ace respondents were unsure if they had.Ace respondents who had specifically thought about suicide were also analyzed. While more than four in five (81.4%) of respondents who indicated that they had thought about suicide had attempted suicide zero times in the past 12 months, the percentage of ace respondents who had attempted suicide one time (8.7%) was four times higher compared to all aces who answered the questions about suicide (2.1%). Furthermore, aces who had thought about suicide had actually attempted suicide two or three times (5.2%) at a rate five times higher than all aces that answered questions about suicide (1.2%). Aces that thought about suicide had actually attempted it four or five times (1.2%) or six or more times (1.0%). Among aces who thought about suicide, 2.5% were unsure if they had attempted suicide.Over four out of five ace respondents (76.0%) that thought about and attempted suicide in the past year did not experience an injury, poisoning, or overdose that had to be treated by a medical professional. About one in five ace respondents who thought about suicide and attempted it did have to be treated for an injury, poisoning, or overdose (19.7%), while 4.3% were unsure

The last one has a white tick over it).Over a third (37.0%) of ace respondents who completed the survey were employed and working full time, while nearly a third (29.2%) were full-time students. Additionally, 15.9% of ace participants were employed part time, 5.7% were self-employed, 5.2% were employed in seasonal, contract, or itinerant work, 3.8% were employed in unpaid work, and 0.8% were full- time caregivers. Meanwhile, one in twenty (4.9%) were part-time students, 8.7% were not employed but looking for work, 6.2% were not employed due to disability or other health conditions, 3.2% were not employed and not looking for work, and 0.6% were retired. An additional 1.6% of participants wrote in a different answer.
