I dreamed last night that someone offered me $18k to write the "sequel" to Recovering Agency.
Which would be my book on abuse culture.
Yeah, I could write it for that.
See. This is why I hedged so much about my first post.
Y'all ain't as ready for revolution as you say.
I'm not even as ready as I say.

(Yes, I've been watching Heilung reaction videos again.)

The Christian idea of a martyr is when your god demands a human sacrifice, but wants it it to be his own follower instead of an outsider.
That's what makes it ok.
And then, society doesn’t believe us? Like, it’s not some conspiracy?
And because they’ve been allowed to denigrate us for centuries sans consequence they are now openly oppressing us and others – including more ‘important’ folks.
Society is sick, abusive and full of shit.
Sometimes I think that YHWH might be real, but that...
1. He's not the only god, and
2. He's a right bastard.
(And this is why we need the word "extrospection" as separate from "empathy." We need to understand the minds of people we *can't* and *shouldn't* empathize with.)
Society really 🖤s to label normal reactions to crappy situations as ‘mental illnesses’.
It’s just more #AbuseCULTure.
Perfectionism as a lifestyle didn't just come from nothing. Americans 200 years ago wrote about and prompted these as ideals.
I'm sure these attitudes share a common ancestor.
I hope someone with credentials somewhere is connecting the dots.

This thread is describing some of the mechanisms of what I call "abuse culture." It's how we all get involved in supporting those who exploit and abuse over those who need our nurturing and protection.
"Burnout" as an insult is an example of abuse culture — societal DARVO that we were conditioned to accept without question.
