Happy Big Birthday #70Up. I’m not far behind you.

Have watched the complete series #7Up It's both the most emotional and saddest show I've seen.
IMO a British TV landmark! 📺

Thanks to @news.abc.net.au for a beaut interview with the local participant in #7Up to #70Up, Paul Kligerman. Loved the final question about eating his greens...

Thank you for posting the article - it was a beautiful response to #70Up and all the emotions it brought to the surface. It was good to get some background and clarifications not given earlier in the series, and lovely to see Peter and Neil chatting together at the end.

Heartfelt thanks to @asifkapadia.bsky.social for the beautiful #70Up. A thoughtful & moving closure to the series that began all those years ago with #7Up. And thanks to all those participants whose lives we peeked into regularly. (My profile pic on here is from 1964!)

My dad, who has been watching the #70Up series since 14-Up, made an interesting point about two of the participants, and a societal change over time, and I think it's an under-discussed aspect. And it's the care system.

The cover image for 70 Up, showing the participants as 7-year-olds and as 70-year-olds.

Watching #70Up 😭😭😭

@anothercinna.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 6:40 AM

To clarify: I've read nothing but praise fo #70Up, quite rightly. But little that explores & celebrates its texture as *television* rather than *event*. Grateful for any pointers to nuanced writing about the medium, as well as the message.

Finally finished catching up with #70Up. Monumentally great TV, a documentary artwork of lasting significance. Has anyone written about with the weight or wit we used to take for granted from Nancy Banks-Smith or Clive James? Please point me at them, because all I've seen does it scant justice.

We’ve been watching all of the …Up programmes in order and just finally finished 70 Up. By god, that was a hard watch at points. #70Up

Just finished the last half hour of #70up with bleary eyes.

@wonderwoman76.bsky.socialOct 3, 2026, 1:18 PM

Installed on the sofa to catch up with #70up and five mins in I already feel over emotional 🥹

So glad to see Neil #70up

Watched the very last episode of #itv #70up last night. Surprisingly emotional at the end. Clearly Michael Apted’s approach was flawed in its class based assumptions but the participants did seem to have fond reflections on their roles in his experiment.
