I only have 7 albums in my albums of the year playlist. A quiet year. 7 great albums though & the Beth Orton is a masterpice. If you have ever liked her music make sure you listen, or if you're a fan of latter day Talk Talk or peak Van Morrison. Truly special. Nailed on for number 1 in #5albums26

I can't thank you enough for all the time & effort you have put into these polls. The community you created has been a source of comfort to many. I have been exposed to so many new artists, some of whom have become firm favourites. Enjoy your well earned rest. See you in December for #5albums26

Good for you Richard - it would be great if you did (already I feel you would have a good base of purchasers!) - but do enjoy the break…
…until #5albums26 😉

Super stuff. Loved every minute. Lockdown legend. So pleased I latched onto this when I did
So many albums discovered and bought

Definitely do the book. We'll all contribute. I had to start keeping spreadsheets. I have full top 20s from every year since 1963. I love a list

Until #5albums26

Peace

Whilst I’ve now officially hung up my polling boots, I can confirm that I’ll be coming out of retirement one last time for #5albums26 at year end. More details on that later!
Beyond that, I’m giving serious thought to writing a book as my next project, it would be a nice way to document the journey…

Hi Rich

#5DebutAlbumsFinal

🥇 The Kick Inside, Kate Bush (1978)
2. Is This It, The Strokes (2001)
3. Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols (1977)
4. Hot Fuss, The Killers (2004)
5. A Walk Across The Rooftops, The Blue Nile (1984)

Thx 4 everything. I’m already looking fwd to #5Albums26 🙏🏻

I might well do #5albums26 mate, don’t think I’ll be able to resist 😉

While I did suspect the polls might wind down after 5 debut albums finished, I'll admit I was hoping you'd somehow eke things out to the end of the year so we could all say goodbye with #5albums26...

Thanks very much Dave, appreciated. I’ll probably do #5albums26 at year end 👍

I might come out of retirement for #5albums26 at the end of the year 👍

Thanks Joe, I might come out of retirement for #5albums26 😉

But I was looking forward to #5albums26 🤣

Seriously, thanks so much for all the work. It was a godsend during Covid and great to be involved in ever since. Happy challenge retirement.
