Night #9: The Body (2018). Clever execution on the absurdity of a serial killer dragging a dead body around at night while in plain sight. Enjoyed the amusing character interactions, sharp dialogue, and gore effects which were quite decent. A Halloween night to remember. #31DoNXVIII

Night #8: Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf (1985). Blood, babes & Christopher Lee chillin' in a 1980s punk/goth club just to name a few highlights. Tons of fun all around with quality practical effects to boot. Does not take itself seriously at any point and has no reason to. #31DoNXVIII

Night #7: Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel (2018). More of the same from the first chapter with a couple of genuinely creepy moments. Found footage flicks never get old IMO. Will probably watch all five LLC chapters at some point. #31DoNXVIII

Night #6: Trucks (1997). When vehicles attack! Maximum Overdrive with the tone of Tremors. A fun ride although it tends to drag at times when character development is provided that is neither intriguing nor serves the plot. Regardless, Mailman vs. Tonka truck delivered in spades. #31DoNXVIII

Night #5: Wrong Turn (2021). Starts out feeling like the original "The Hills Have Eyes" but then takes a right turn to social commentary that cleverly updates the 2003 original. Riveting third act is bookended by a conclusion that is quite the stretch logically but satisfying nonetheless #31DoNXVIII

Night #4: Subspecies (1991). Delightful vampiric tale which also apparently serves as the first chapter of a trilogy? The intense "Wicker Man"style costumed parade march was amusing and some quality low budget gore during the finale hit the mark. #31DoNXVIII

Night #3: Theatre of Blood (1973). The 🐐 actor Vincent Price at the height of his performative thespian powers. The meticulously orchestrated Shakespearian revenge murders are enjoyable to watch unfold. Technically a rewatch from 31DoN3 way back in Shocktober of 2011. #31DoNXVIII

Night #2: The Pit (1981). "Jamie wouldn't kill anyone...unless Teddy told him to!" Curious oddity with a creepy VHS cover and tagline that I vividly remember giggling about while perusing the video store shelves as a kid. Literally feeding the trolls to absurdly entertaining results. #31DoNXVIII

Night #1: Lost Highway (1997). Welcome to the 18th edition of "31 Days of Night"! First rewatch of this majestically incoherent masterpiece in 13+ years via @criterionchannl.bsky.social. The mind remembers things the way it wants to. David Lynch is missed immensely. Happy #Shocktober! #31DoNXVIII
