Eliana Steele
FASD Self-Advocate & Educator
Sharing my story. Changing Minds. Building a more understanding world.
About Eliana: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Complex PTSD, Specific Learning Disabilities in Reading, Writing & Math
Eliana is an 18-year-old self-advocate living with FASD, ADHD, Complex PTSD, and specific learning disabilities in reading, written expression, and mathematics. Her journey has been shaped by resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to personal growth and helping others.
Eliana received special education services through an Individualized Education Program (IEP) beginning at the end of third grade and continued to access supports through her graduation in 2026.
Despite significant challenges, Eliana graduated a semester early and earned an Academic Letter in recognition of her hard work, perseverance, and academic achievement.
As an FASD self-advocate, Eliana is passionate about educating others about FASD and the lived experience of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities. She believes awareness, acceptance, and appropriate support can empower individuals to thrive.
As she begins her next chapter, Eliana is excited to embrace new opportunities at the right developmental pace – one that honors her strengths, supports her well-being, and sets her up for long-term success.
“My disability may change the way I learn, but it does not define who I am or what I can contribute.”
I advocate for: Awareness, Understanding, Acceptance, Appropriate Support, Opportunities for All
