@davram67.bsky.socialAlbum of the day: Day 451
I admire Mark Knopfler as a guitarist and Sultans of Swing is a fantastic song. Unfortunately the rest of the album seems bland by comparison. #musicsky #nowplaying #musicchallenge #1001albums
@closetotheedge.bsky.social#1001albums: day 284: Kings Of Leon: youth and Young Manhood: 2003. Not bad, interesting to hear this first album which is a bit more raw and unprocessed before they went all 'sex on fire' or whatever it was.
@tonemonkey.bsky.social118/500 The Mothers of Invention-Only In It For The Money. Odd. Darkly silly. Inventive. Musically brilliant at times. It’s not a relaxing album to listen to but it’s good, and worth investigating. You may enjoy it less than me, but you will feel something towards it. Anything but bland. #1001albums
@edvannunen.bsky.social#1001Albums 651 The Cure - Disintegration (1989)

I check out a Thelonius Monk classic album.
Favorite Videos include a La Moon live band performance, The Womack Sisters on KEXP, and more!
@closetotheedge.bsky.social#1001albums: day 283: Michael Jackson: off The Wall: 1979. To me it always sounds like he's singing 'keep on, to the Post Office'.... anyway, never mind. 🤣. Pretty good pop album.
@tonemonkey.bsky.social117/500 Boston-Boston. It’s fun, slightly schlocky, and filled with great musicianship. No it isn’t massively deep, really it’s pop music dressed in rock clothes, but there is nothing at all wrong with that. I enjoyed the whole thing! #1001albums
@danteece.bsky.socialNo album #214 for #DansDiscSlog so straight to album #215
The Isley Brothers - 3 + 3
A smooth, soulful album that is crammed full of hits. You can't really go wrong with this one.
@svein-frode.bsky.socialBest discovery of my #1001Albums marathon so far. We're having Indian food tonight because of it!
@svein-frode.bsky.social#1001Albums #77. Rather uninteresting as a whole, but not without highlights.

I check out an album by Fiona Apple, and the latest release from La Doña.
Favorite Videos include paopao's A COLORS SHOW, YOUNG POSSE's On The Spot, and more!
@closetotheedge.bsky.social#1001albums: Day 282: Led Zeppelin: III: 1970. Wonderful way to start the day, it's always a good time to get the Led out! Plenty of variety on this 3rd LZ album, with some more acoustic sounds coming in and John Paul Jones pulling all his instruments out of the back of the van. Cracking album.
@davram67.bsky.socialAlbum of the day: Day 449
More hipster fecking nonsense! What did I gain by hearing this? Absolutely nothing. An hour that could've been spent more productively, such as watching paint dry! #musicsky #nowplaying #musicchallenge #1001albums
@tonemonkey.bsky.social116/500 Kelala-Take Me Apart. I didn’t know the artist or any of the songs. It wasn’t unpleasant but I don’t think it will be one that sticks with me, it didn’t get its hooks in. #1001albums
@danteece.bsky.social#DansDiscSlog
Album #213
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Darklands
A band I've only really delved into in the last 18 months but I like everything I've heard so far.
Their mix of Goth-Rock come Jangle-Pop come Psychobilly come Shoegaze is unique and really good.
@svein-frode.bsky.social#1001Albums #76. I'm not too keen on the early Queen catalog. Not hard enough rock for my taste, and not proggy enough to keep me interested for an entire album. But it's been a while, so I'm looking forward to revisiting this.

I check out an album by ABBA, as well as the latest releases by Blondshell, and Dolly Ave.
Favorite Videos include Tha Dogg Pound on Bass & Bars, QWER on IMMERSED, and more!
@tonemonkey.bsky.social115/1001 Fugees-The Score. This hasn’t aged well as far as I’m concerned. Too many of the tropes of the age and while there is interest I didn’t have fun. The hits were ok I guess, but I think a lot of the love for it comes through rose tinted glasses. #1001albums
