Kyōto has many iconic sweets, but one of my favourites is Sasaya Iori's (笹屋伊織) dorayaki.
Some of you may be aware of dorayaki from the anime Doraemon, but Sasaya's is something quite different.

Both sweets are named after a gong (銅鑼 'dora').
