Issue 7 of proper #Zzap! and they fair LOVED the game. 97% Gold Medal. Kaboom. Rightly so. The mag gave the game a whopping 4 half-page review too. I think they also did a Dev Diary building up to the release, so... Anyway - the score is apt. This game is genius.

November '86 and #Zzap! wanted to love it, but Gary Penn was refusing to let it SIZZLE. Still 89% is a great score. Find a manual, read it and work out the controls. Then play. This is a beautifully put together game.

#Zzap! gave this a SIZZLER at 90% - were they on friggin' dope, or what? This is nowhere near that good. By a long, long, long chalk - boot it up and have a go. It's almost laughable. 2.5 years later Zzap! 2.0 revieweed the budget release at 58%. Closer to the mark.

#Zzap! Christmas 1987 gave a half-page SIZZLER with a score of 91% and I have to say - even in 1-PLY this is great fun, in 2-PLY it would be proper decent joystick-breaking stuff! Two years later they upped this to 93% for the Hit Squad budget release. Proper!

<<< difficult for you to come to that conclusion. If you had to reload level 1 every time you died, I can see why I am not massively fond of it. #Zzap! loved it, whacking a 93% score on it - it ain't that good. And whilst the driving levels "look" like Turbocharge, they do NOT play like it! 80% max.

#Zzap! issue 38 and inexplicitly the reviewers gave this pile of doo-doo 86%. It was subsequently reduced to 76% three years later, but man - talk about no way..: this game is ballsack!

#Zzap! issue 38 and a proper double spread review for this double wick game. I am certain I only ever picked this up on the "RAD" budget release and it was a cool game, man. This is

Reading the scores and the comments, I am unsure as to why this only scored an overall 80%. Sure the #Zzap! lads have their own take on it and it is an essentially lefty-righty run 'n' gun, but either the first four catagory marks are too high, or something else went wrong. Sound 98%..?!??!! 😱

I think it is safe to say that the #Zzap! Chaps were not really taken with the whole concept of the game. The score for the 64 is low - it is a far better game than that... It really does look fantastic.

The lads over at #Zzap! Towers were suitably impressed with Z and lavished a very high score of 88% on the game. 1985 Ladies and Gentlemen... 1985... Crazy. Also, FYI, the Zzap64 website has had a revamp. Go take a look. I am unsure if I prefer it or not!

#Zzap! fair panned the game across both #Amiga and the 64, with the former getting a woeful 38%. £25 for this tosh. The 64 faired not much better with a 59% score. Very lenient! But there would be MORE Turtles to come later!

#Zzap! issue 70 and a 78% score for a crap £20 cart game is, well, it's just bonkers. It might be better if you play for a bit longer than 10 minutes, but... It really needs to!

Issue 53 of #Zzap! and both the 64 and its big sister received a SIZZLING 92% score. I mean, it really is a phenomenal conversion on both machines. Cracking job and one of the best games made, even if it is a simple platformer, for both computers.

#Zzap! in issue 80 (surely close to a switch up to Commodore Force..?!??!) gave the game 83%, which is a very respectable score indeed!

< killed just as you are leaving a screen by an incoming Grem. And that is just one thing. MC's SID ain't up to much, but else, the game is lovely and interesting. #Zzap! thought not & slapped a 38% mark on the C64 and 40% on the Amiga in a half-page evisceration.

Issue 2 of #Zzap! and the White Wizard is getting all serious. This actually reads like a game that I want to play. So I shall.

#Zzap! were none-too-fussed with the conversion in issue 22, awarding it a low 45%. Apparantly there is a US version of this game (this is the EU/UK version) - can anyone locate me a copy..? It is meant to be BETTER, for one, but I also need it for a video series!!!

Check out the #Zzap! review from September 1989. 75%. Fine. But lo! What about the 64's BIg Sister? 34%. Shoddy. Apalling scores here. Why? Also, having listened to the C64's title SID whilst writing this post, it gets *so* Ninja... I mean... Whatever...

Very early #Zzap! (issue 7 to be precise) offered a faux-research paper 3 half-page "review" quite astonishingly awarding the game 98% for "Sound"... Still, it is a nice review and well put together, back when, in my opinion, they cared much more about it all...
