Just a little bit tired now, wow what a day. I'm still reflecting on the experience, as the decibels continue to ring in my ears!
Every woman I spoke to had a remarkable story, a humbling and emotional day.
Congratulations to all.

Thank you to Women of the Year for bringing together so many remarkable women, celebrating their contributions and creating opportunities to listen, learn and connect.
A reminder of what courage, determination, compassion and hope can achieve when we come together.
We need more of that.

It was a valuable opportunity to introduce new people to Long Covid Kids & Friends and share the experiences of children and young people living with Long Covid.
What was striking was how many women Sammie spoke with were unaware that Long Covid affects children at all.
Yesterday, our Founder and CEO, @sammiemc.bsky.social , had the privilege of attending the Women of the Year Lunch & Awards 2026, we are delighted to share a few snapshots from her day.
It feels very special to have the work we do at LCK recognised in this way.
What started in 2020 with families coming together to make sure children
& young people with LC were seen & heard has become something I could never have imagined at the time.

We hope she has a wonderful day as she celebrates this achievement, and continue to raise awareness of Long Covid and the experiences of children, and families.
🧡 A little bit of LCK orange is heading to #WOY2026.
We’re delighted that our Founder and CEO, Sammie McFarland, has been invited to this year’s Women of the Year Lunch and Awards.
Since founding LCK in 2020, Sammie has advocated alongside children, young people, families & colleagues
